Admission Criteria 2020 - 21

ADMISSION TO B.A. (Major) – TTMV – 2020-21:

A candidate who secures a minimum of 45% (40% for candidates belonging to SC/ST community) marks in the aggregate at the H.S. (10+2) or in an equivalent examination shall be eligible for admission to the B.A.(Major) Degree Course of Study in Tourism & Travel Management (TTMV), provided she has passed in English having full marks not being less than 100.

For the purpose of determining eligibility to TTMV Course, aggregate shall be calculated by adding the marks in Top-Four subjects in order of marks secured by a candidate in H.S. (10+2) or in an equivalent examination.
Marks in compulsory Environmental Education/ Studies / Science shall not be taken into account for calculation of aggregate marks. However Environmental Education/ Studies / Science if studied as an Elective subject of 100 marks may be considered.

Candidates taking up TTMV B.A. (Major) Degree Course shall study any two of the following as Compulsory Generic Elective Subjects.

For B.A. Major Course of study a student is required to choose any one of the Ability Enhancement Compulsory Courses (AECC1) for their First Semester

Admission: B.A. General 2020-21

For B.A. General Course of study a student is required to choose 2 Core Course (CC) and        1 Generic Elective (GE) subject from the following combination groups, taking not more than one subject from one group. The Chosen Core Course (CC) and the Generic Elective (GE) cannot be from the same group. 

  • GROUP 1: Political Science/English/Economics/Bengali
  • GROUP 2: Sociology/Sanskrit/ Education/ Film Studies/
  • GROUP 3: Journalism/Psychology/ Geography/Philosophy/History

(English and Bengali can be taken as Generic Elective (GE) only. Cannot choose English & Bengali simultaneously)

  • For B.A. General Students cannot opt for two (2) science elective subjects.
  • Science Subject: Film Studies; Economics; Psychology; Geography

Generic Elective Subjects:
A student shall have to choose 4 Generic Elective papers strictly from 2 subjects of choice taking exactly two courses from each subject as specified for first 4 semesters.

  • Mathematics is compulsory for Economics Honours.
  • Physics and Mathematics is compulsory for Chemistry Honours.
  • Elective subjects (Geography, Psychology, Journalism & Mass Communication, and Film Studies) will be offered subject to availability of seats. (Confirmation at time of admission)
